rainy day poetry

Luckily winter has been merciful so far with temperatures
highly above the season's average and even if rain is
teeming down these days we can still enjoy long walks
on the outskirts of town where stumbling across
momentary tokens of poetry is quite ordinary.

Unique moments in which the sun is hidden behind
ominous black clouds while rainwater on the ground
creates bewildering arabesques and mirror images and
my camera is irresistibly drawn to drops and
puddles the way moths are drawn to light.
Call them the mo(i)st inspiring moments.
