a feminine new era

”A visual expression of a woman's inner-self” are the words
Tokyo's MB fashion week properly used to describe the
tailored approach to everyday's fashion of Japanese designer
Akira Naka who's actually known for his constructive
skills and his 'East meets West' aesthetic.

Akira studied at Tokyo Bunka College, before moving to esteemed
Antwerp's Royal Academy fashion dept. to sharpen up his skills
(he and his class mates had a significant collaboration with
Louis Vuitton's house in Paris and he was also selected to take
part in Hyères festival international de la mode proudly becoming
one of the finalists)
coming back to Japan in 2006 to launch his
eponymous womenswear label (at first named Poesie,
most likely in a burst of wistfulness for good old Europe)

The theme of his spring 2013 collection is ”The New Era”
featuring feminine sharply tailored garments with an edgy,
European twist (through the selection of fabrics and textures,
inserts, cuts and details) subtly suggesting that women look
more feminine wearing their boyfriend's clothes.
Truly a cool and smart metropolitan look made of graphic
digital prints with animal shapes, broderie anglaise sheer tops
and geometrical textures in a color palette of black and
white with splashes of bold primary colors.
