geometrically hip

Still browsing through the crystal clear Scandinavian
straightforwardness in fashion design whose apparent
simplicity masks expertise by the dozen and a keen
outsider's-eye view on the state-of-the-art streetwear
suggestions from Paris and Milan.

As you may know, Altewai.Saome is the brand name
of designers Natalia Altewai and Randa Saome who
both spent several years studying and working in
Italy dreaming about setting up their own label and
the signature sporty taste I came to admire last
year (previous post here).

Clean lines, elegant cuts and unique details in the
duo's s/s 2013 geometry-inspired collection (they
drew inspiration from the pictorial language of
geometrical abstraction in the ”bi-spatial
paintings” by Argentinian artist Raul Mazzoni)

smartly playing with layers and lines, mixing fabrics
and hues in a euphoric sense of freedom.

The eclectic mix comprises round-sleeved and
sleeveless jackets, now and then with rows of
metallic eyelets, paired with layered and pleated
skirts of different lengths in a stern color palette
made of chalky and black tones with touches
of blush and vivid orange and it's simply
accessorized with white wedges and bold
KunoQvist™ sunglasses developed with the
Swedish eyewear company.

Urban, cool and slightly techno.
