little people, great inspiration

I've been stumbling across 'little people' lately,
to be more specific in Japanese artistic works such as
Murakami Haruki's ”1Q84” novel or in Hiromasa Yonebayashi's
animation movie ”Arrietty” so when I bumped into this
breathtaking still by Spanish biologist, professor and gifted
photographer Ana Retamero my heart skipped a beat.

Called ”Dos Hombrecillos” or ”Two Little Men”, the
anthropomorphic flower heads of Mediterranean Orchys
Italica (also known as the ”naked man orchid”) look like
mythical creatures so it's small wonder she was hailed as
GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2011
winner in the 'plants and mushrooms' category.

Little people provide great inspiration!
