knitwear with a Dutch touch

CG as you know stands for Computer Graphic and in some
ways it could be convenient for us because CG are the initials
of one of the most outstanding talents in the Dutch fashion
milieu, Conny Groenewegen who combined study in 3-D design
and fashion at Rotterdam's Willem de Koonig Academy
before establishing her own 'CG' label in 2006.

Through the years she developed a distinctive approach to
fashion skillfully mixing traditional craftsmanship with new
digital techniques such as the knitting range she created
working with different threads and fibers, setting up her
'soft-tech' knitwear which strongly impressed the jury
of Mercedes-Benz Dutch Fashion Awards 2011 CG won
together with Korean menswear designer Hyun Yeu.

CG's AW 2012 'Alchemy' preview fully shows the designer's
distinctive attitude toward fashion design with androgynous
silhouettes and a painstaking attention to material research
(with amazing mix and match of season's colors through
contrasting yarns and techniques) so it's small wonder
that the DFA's jury spoke of her talent as being ”the blood
and oxygen to the fashion industry (...) the only designer
who made today's members of the jury eager to buy

the product for themselves to wear, right there
on the spot and off the racks.”  What a verdict!

  1. Dearest Elisabetta,

Funny to find this Dutch fashion designer that studied at the Rotterdam Willem de Kooning academy. Just coincidence that our daughter from Rotterdam is with us this week.
    Love to you,
    Mariette
