funtime elegance

I'm gonna take you through fun in fashion telling the
uplifting story of a gifted Lancashire-born lass who
moved to London straight from school to pursue
her dream of becoming a fashion designer.
Isle of Wight currently based young designer
Charlotte Taylor hasn't the blithe disregard for the
rules of Norwegian iconoclastic Fam Irvoll, yet she
dares to be unique and jaunty in a more 'Tayloired'
way: graduated from Central Saint Martins as Fam,
Charlotte's idea of fun is made of strongly tailored
silhouettes with a a slight sporty twist providing
canvases for eye-catching color combinations
with bold zany animal prints.

Charlotte was briskly snapped by Luella Bartley's
(another multicolored, ironic mind though) upon
graduation to work in the RTW label's creative mktg.
dept. where I bet she learned a lot about
tailoring, biz wisdom and brand identity.
She left Luella two years ago to courageously establish
her eponymous label in spite of the increasing economic
downturn with a covetable debut collection unusually
inspired by grannies, soap operas and penguins
(her fave animal friend) as well recording the whole
'birth of a brand' process in her lovely blog.

She's once more injecting fun into fashion with her
print focused s/s 2012 collection whose lookbook shows
her signature dashes of color and playful patterns,
two-toned prints mainly with animal and bonsai trees
on extremely clean shapes: no wonder she was
lately declared as a Vauxhall Fashion Scout's
”Ones to watch” promising designer.
”...I'm pretty lighthearted and I want this to reflect
in my clothes,” she said stressing her own playfully
colored approach to fashion design.
