halcyon days ahead

Rosemount Australian Fashion Week opened a few days
ago with its trans-seasonal clothing so appropriate to the
country's climate with an unforeseen collection by
Zimmermann, which was previously known
as a sexy swimwear label.

Entitled “Halcyon Days” suggesting a period of time
in the past that was idyllically happy and peaceful,
the breakaway collection shows a fascinating
airy aesthetic with sharp silhouettes and
interesting craft-like lace effects.

Nicky and Simone Zimmermann's spring summer
2011/12 collection bears a 70s allure with sharp
A-line dresses made of patchworks, geometric
panneling and a captivating mix of plain color,
laces and watercolor floral print patterns in an
amazing combination of traditional embroideries
and detailed digitally cut-outs.

”I drove everyone crazy with this collection...”
proudly said designer Nicky Zimmermann
and I think she's absolutely right: halcyon
days are straight ahead!
