Lady's night in Florence

Florence's Pitti Immagine Uomo 79th opening night special
event has been quite magic: the unusual location of
Santo Stefano al Ponte former church, close to Ponte Vecchio,
hosted the catwalk show of leading designer Alberta Ferretti
showcasing 33 evening dresses worn by 33 icon-models,
from Brazilian-born Camille Belle to Poppy Delevigne,
Marisa Berenson, Marpessa, Ines Sastre, Eva Riccobono,
Carmen Dell'Orefice, Zani Gugelmann, Talulah Riley
and other influential international jet setters.

The event celebrating the acclaimed designer's career was
even motivated by charity, the proceeds going to Jordan
River Foundation, chaired by HM Queen Rania of Jordan
which aims to protect children from abuse as well as
to emancipate women promoting their own
intellectual and economic independence.

Softened by the dim light Ferrett's sophisticated dresses were
a poetic hymn to lightness revealing fascinating shapes and
details such as the silk tulle bridal dress made with over
50 meters of fabric with macramé lace outer layers.
Another Italian pride, singer Elisa, performed live along
the runway singing her own hits: one more booming
event for the Florentine fair attended by thousands of
visitors and with 1.010 brands involved.

  1. Dearest Elisabetta,

Ah, Ponte Vecchio... that makes me homesick!
Indeed a very unusual setting in a former Church.
But at least for a very noble cause!

Thanks for sharing this. Wishing you a great week and lots of love from Georgia,
