red carpet cover girl

Chinese actress and singer Li Bingbing 李冰冰 covers Harper's
Bazaar October issues both in China and Singapore
because of the upcoming movie she's acting in,
'Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame'
by director Tsui Hark, the only Chinese feature film
in competition at Venice Film Festival last month.

Harper's Bazaar China celebrates its 24th anniversary with
an amazing photoshoot from a very talented photographer
whose name regrettably I can't track down.
Gorgeous pics, blatantly set in a vampish charming look.

The Harbin-born actress and model has a leading role in
Singapore's edition with a stronger yet more dramatic image
in an editorial called “Grand Visions” with photographs by
Gan, styled by Kenneth Goh in which Li plays dress-up
with a wide fall fashion range, from ethereal Dior's
gowns to the simple cut of a Céline coat.

Earth goddess one moment, girl-about-town the next:
two differing interpretations both bearing her own
appeal as well the distinctive hallmarks
of each country's fashion perspective.

  1. Dearest Mikapoka,

What an exotic oriental beauty she is...! Oh my!!!
Made me happy to read that the kitten heel is returning. Thanks for showing us this great Harper's Bazaar edition from Singapore. On our way to work in Indonesia, I'd always pick up loads of magazines in Singapore for the two-month work period in central Java.

    Sunny greetings from Georgia/USA

  2. i love the whole concept and styling of those images... hope you had a nice weekend!

  3. Ciao Mikapoka :o)
The first photo is very beautiful... resembles to "Girl With a Pearl Earring"... both the film and the Vermeer`s image. I like the Dutch painting ;o)
