assault on minimalism

Minimalism has been bombed one fashion week after the
other by some superstar designers who are waging war
against the minimalist trend.
No exception today in Paris where Louis Vuitton s/s 11 collection
showed gorgeous, opulent dresses plenty of vivid colors.

Marc Jacobs skillfully mixes Art Deco, Art Nouveau and sketches
of China with jungle style in a clever yet entertaining way.
Amazing fringed cheongsams, floral party dresses, lace
skirts with the brand's monogram, giant animal textures,
in homage to Kansai Yamamoto - the first designer
he worked for - and sensational accessories.

High waisted belts, small bags and clutches (among
them one with VUITTON embroidered in rhinestones in
all capital letters) and stunning shoes whose heels are
shaped as animal feet: horse, tiger and giraffe,
jogging my memory to vintage Ferragamo's.
