the trained wunderkind

When I stumbled across the distinctive Wunderkind
clothing collection I was suddenly caught by the unexpected
quality of designs and garments.
Eventually it turned out that the skilled hand behind
it was Wolfgang Joop's.

Wolfgang Joop is a prominent German fashion designer as well
the founder of fashion and cosmetics company JOOP! back in 1981.
Over the years the brand name became available for licensing and
more associated with fragrances while Joop's company no longer
produced any of its own goods for sale.
Joop eventually sold his stakes ending his envolvment with it
before starting up Wunderkind in 2003.

The fall/winter 2010 collection, which is produced by highly
respected Italian women's wear maker Roscini, shows a
sophisticated yet not eccentric touch with clean shapes,
tailored masculine pieces mixed with very feminine, free-flowing
chiffon and silk dresses. I simply adore this collection for its couture
detailing and the sense of freedom the designer's experience
is able to give bringing luxurious fabrics and exclusive techniques
into the world of prêt-à-porter fashion.
Wunderkind's unique take on easygoing elegance.
