Rio Fashion Week

The 17th edition of Rio Fashion Week came to an end
yesterday in a triumph of womanly figures.
It's wintertime down there, that's why they're exhibiting

next year's spring-summer collections.
Lots of local brands on the runways, between them

Walter Rodrigues, MelkZ-Da, Giulia Borges, Espaço Fashion,
Carlos Tufvesson, Maria Bonita but my eyes are focusing for the
time being on Filhas de Gaia and Claudia Simões brands.

Filhas de Gaia show airy light fabrics and good-looking floral
pattern for young girls shifting around in a fancy garden.
Fluid dresses where asymmetrical cuts sometimes give
birth to unexpected volumes, nude tied up wedges and giant
spider brooches on tulle handbands.
Such romantic silhouettes for an appealing summer look.

Claudia Simões collection suggests an extremely elegant ethnic
style giving a rustic touch to classical shapes where natural
colors play with dark browns lighted up by orange touches,
some tribal pattern prints and embroideries.
Small awesome hats in male profiles made with different
materials complete the collection's characteristic mood.
